The Submersible Drilling Rig is an in-house design, purpose-built by the Group to cut the cost of opening large-bore anchor holes in the seabed. It supports anchor deployment and the more complex subsea installation scopes, working from a platform or vessel at the surface under topside control.

Set against the drilling rig concepts already on the market, the SDR is a robust, purpose-built alternative that brings the cost of offshore drilling and piling down. It extends the Group's anchoring capability across subsea installations, floating offshore systems and marine infrastructure.

Operated from the vessel

The SDR is controlled remotely from the deck of the operating vessel, with the drilling head, self-levelling feet and umbilical all managed topside. Operations are monitored on-screen throughout, so no commercial divers or ROVs are needed on the seabed.

Removing divers from the equation is the point: it cuts offshore personnel exposure and cost, while the containerised spread keeps mobilisation simple and the environmental footprint small.
