Remotely operated seabed drilling and anchor installation, built for demanding offshore renewable sites.
The Raptor AROV 2 is a remotely controlled rig that drills into the seabed and installs anchors. It was built for high-energy tidal sites and floating wind developments, among the most demanding settings in offshore renewables.
Three things define it: positional accuracy, speed of installation and a reduced offshore footprint. The rig works with proprietary groutless self-drilling rock anchors, so an anchor goes in with far less vessel time and far fewer steps than conventional methods demand.
Working windows at such locations are short. At many tidal sites the whole operation has to fit inside a single slack-water period, and the rig was designed around that constraint from the outset. It matters for waters like those around Orkney and for the floating renewable projects that follow.

The rig is sized for smaller, lower-cost support vessels rather than full offshore construction spreads, and that changes project economics considerably. Nor does it work in isolation: AROV 2 sits inside a connected subsea toolkit covering inspection tooling, trenching systems, intervention crawlers and integrated vessel operations.
Anchor installation completed inside one slack-water window, even at high-flow tidal sites.
Anchors are set within ±3 degrees of vertical and fixed into the seabed, with placement controlled throughout.
A quieter, less intrusive anchoring method, with a smaller seabed footprint and lower volumes of cut rock.
